Part of the 1980-1997 Ethnic Minority series, this China 1 Jiao Banknote, has images of several ethnic minority groups in the Peoples Republic of China. This uncirculated baknotes features on the front two men, Gaoshan and Manchu, in ethnic dress facing right on the left. In the bottom you can see the denomination in arabic numerals. On the backside you can see China’s emblem (Tian’anmen, the “Gate of Heavenly Peace”, the gate to the forbidden city, with 5 stars above) in the center with a large “1” on each side as well as the inscription “People’s Bank of China one Jiao” in four languages: Mongolian, Tibetan, Uyghur and Zhang, the 4 principal ethnic minority languages supported by the state. This banknote doesn’t feature a security thread or any watermark.
